Using Maverick Protocol as an example

Having a research framework for DeFi is the difference between systematically shifting the odds to be in your favor and gambling. One simple framework that can help ensure your research is comprehensive is a checklist of things to research.

In this post, I show the 9 things that I analyze in new DeFi projects and demonstrate how I’d go about finding them for an up-and-coming DEX, Maverick Protocol.

The 9 items to check for DeFi protocols are:

1. Financials (absolute)

2. Financials (trends)

3. Whitepaper/Documents

4. Team

5. Investors

6. Community

7. Roadmap (past)

8. Roadmap (future)

9. Product

Going through each these will ensure that you understand the key quantitative and qualitative aspects of a project. I chose Maverick for this example, because of their strong volume metrics. NOTE: this is an example, not an endorsement.
